1. Who can submit to the Fly Creator Excellence Awards?

Anyone! We welcome short filmmakers, digital creators, students, documentarians, music video directors, and storytellers from all backgrounds and countries. Whether you're just starting out or already making waves, this is your platform.

2. Do I need to be based in Australia to submit?

Not at all. This is an international festival. You can submit from anywhere in the world, and your work will still be considered equally for all awards. If you are submitting your work from outside Australia and your project is selected in any of our categories, we will request a short video message from you to be presented at our awards night.

3. What types of content do you accept?

We accept a wide range of creative work: short films, online series, YouTube/TikTok/Instagram.Vimeo content, vertical storytelling, music videos, documentaries, and experimental digital pieces. If it tells a story or makes an impact, it belongs here.

4. Can I attend the awards night if I’m selected?

Absolutely! Finalists are invited to our red carpet awards night in Sydney on October 18, featuring networking, industry guests, and entertainment. While attendance is not required to win, it’s a great way to connect and celebrate.

5. Do you offer student discounts?

Yes! We support emerging artists and schools and each category has a generous student discount. However, if you submit your work under the Student category and are unable to provide valid proof of enrollment, your submission will be disqualified without a refund.

6. Will I receive feedback on my submission?

Only official award winners will receive feedback from our programming team.

7. What makes Fly Creator different from other festivals?

We celebrate creators in all formats, not just traditional cinema. From vertical content and digital storytelling to cinematic shorts and documentaries, we recognise how stories are evolving. Our mission is to spotlight creative excellence across platforms.
